Draumsýn (2021)

Draumsýn (Dream vision) was written for and premiered by the newly formed chamber group Jökla in June 2021. The title of the piece refers to imaginary situations related to one‘s dreams and desires. In literature this is known as a device in which a dreamer or a visionary acquires knowledge or a truth that is not available to them in a waking state. In a similar way, music can tell us stories that can't be told with words. It takes us on a journey where we may witness various obscure scenes, but perhaps also some familiar ones.
