Draumsýn (Dream Vision) is a sonic exploration of the subconscious. The title nods to the literary concept of imaginative scenarios born from our deepest desires and dreams. In this realm, the dreamer uncovers truths inaccessible in the waking world. Music, too, has the power to reveal hidden narratives, carrying us on a journey through vivid, often surreal landscapes, where the unfamiliar and familiar coalesce.
The work was commissioned by and composed for the newly formed Jökla Ensemble with support from the RÚV/STEF Composer's Fund. It was premiered in Hannesarholt, Reykjavík, in June 2021.
